Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply to Revolution Dog Training services, including eligibility, payments, cancellations, liability and complaints.

1. About these terms

  • These terms apply to every service from Revolution Dog Training Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England (number 15160971) at Rytham Gate Granary, Seaton Ross, York YO42 4NQ. “You” means the person making the booking, who is responsible for the dog being trained.
  • You accept these terms when you book, pay a deposit, buy a package or sign a training agreement, whichever happens first.
  • For the Precision and Mastery Programmes, your signed training agreement and these terms together form your contract with us. If they ever differ, the training agreement applies.
  • We may update these terms from time to time. The version in place when you booked applies to that booking.

2. Our services and training results

These terms cover:

  • Phone Consultations: a free 15-minute call that doesn’t commit you to anything.
  • Puppy training: private 45-minute lessons at our training grounds or on Pocklington Green, and the Puppy Package (3 lessons, our puppy guide and WhatsApp support).
  • 1-2-1 training: private 1-hour lessons, including Initial Lessons, at our training grounds, in Pocklington or another place we agree with you, plus home visits and 3 and 6 lesson packages.
  • The Pathway Programme: 5 consecutive days of day training, 9:00am to 4:30pm, with an update each evening and a 1-hour owner handover session at the end of the week.
  • The Precision Programme: 2 weeks of residential training built around e-collar conditioning, ending with a 1.5-hour handover lesson, a handover guide and WhatsApp support for a couple of weeks.
  • The Mastery Programme: 4, 6 or 8 weeks of residential training, with an owner session during the stay, collection day, a handover guide, two follow-up lessons and ongoing WhatsApp support.
  • Maintenance stays: short residential stays to keep your dog’s existing training consistent. They aren’t for new behaviour problems or a new training programme, which we’d quote for separately.

No guarantee of results

  • Every dog is different. We’ll always work hard towards the goals we agree with you, but we don’t guarantee any particular result.
  • Results depend on things outside our control, including your dog’s temperament, genetics, health and history, how long a behaviour has been going on, and above all how consistently you follow our guidance at home.
  • Once your dog is home, keeping the results going is your responsibility. We’re not responsible for behaviour that returns because the structure, handling or equipment we’ve shown you isn’t kept up.
  • In a small number of cases a behaviour can’t be fully fixed. If that happens, we’ll focus on helping you manage your dog safely.
  • Because results aren’t guaranteed, we don’t give refunds based on results alone. This doesn’t affect your rights if we haven’t provided the service with reasonable care and skill.

Our methods and equipment

  • We’re balanced trainers. Depending on your dog and the programme, we may use tools including slip leads and e-collars. The Precision Programme is built around e-collar conditioning. On The Mastery Programme the e-collar is optional, and we’ll only use one if you’re happy for us to.
  • By booking, you agree to us using the methods and equipment we’ve discussed with you.
  • After handover, you’re responsible for using any equipment correctly and as we’ve shown you. We’re not responsible for problems caused by equipment being misused.

3. Eligibility and our right to refuse or end training

  • Dogs coming to us for residential training (the Precision Programme, Mastery Programme and maintenance stays) must be at least 16 weeks old and in good overall health.
  • Dogs with a history of aggression are assessed case by case.
  • Maintenance stays are only open to dogs that have completed the Mastery Programme, or dogs we’ve trained where the end goal has been achieved.

We can refuse a booking, or stop or end training at any time, if:

  • your dog poses a risk to our staff, other dogs or the public that we can’t safely manage
  • continuing would put your dog’s welfare at risk
  • information about your dog’s health, behaviour or history was missing or inaccurate
  • payment isn’t made when it’s due
  • you, or anyone with you, behaves abusively or threateningly towards our staff

If we end training for a reason that isn’t your fault, such as your dog’s welfare, we’ll refund the price of the part of the service we haven’t delivered.

If we end training because information was missing or inaccurate, payment wasn’t made, or of abusive behaviour, we’ll keep the deposit and payment for the service delivered so far, and you’ll cover any reasonable costs we’ve had as a result.

If we end a residential stay early, you must collect your dog, or arrange for someone to, within 24 hours of us asking.

4. Your responsibilities

Telling us about your dog

  • You must give us full and honest information about your dog’s health, medication, allergies, behaviour and previous training.
  • This includes any bite, attack or aggression towards people or other animals, however minor it seemed at the time.
  • Tell us about any changes before each session or stay, including if your dog has been unwell, has been around a dog with a contagious illness, or is in season. We may need to rearrange.
  • If information is missing or inaccurate, section 3 applies, and you’re responsible for any injury, damage or loss that results.

Health and vaccinations

  • Your dog must be fit and healthy for training.
  • Dogs staying with us must have all vaccinations up to date, and we may ask to see your dog’s vaccination record.
  • The kennel cough vaccine must not be in its live stage when your dog comes in to us.
  • Flea, tick and worming treatment must be up to date. If your dog arrives with fleas or ticks, we’ll treat them and charge you the cost.
  • Puppies must have had their vaccinations before starting puppy lessons, unless we’ve agreed otherwise.
  • For all other lessons, vaccination is your choice, but it’s at your own risk. We can’t guarantee there’s no risk of disease at any venue or around other dogs and equipment.

Food, belongings and equipment

  • For residential stays, you provide your dog’s food, or have it delivered to us. We don’t supply food. If it runs out, we’ll buy a suitable food and charge you the cost.
  • Anything you leave with your dog, such as beds, toys or leads, is left at your own risk. We’re not responsible for loss or damage unless it’s caused by our negligence.
  • Training equipment such as e-collars and leads isn’t included in any price. We’ll send you links to the equipment we recommend, and anything we do supply is charged separately.

Insurance

We strongly recommend you have pet insurance that covers vet fees and third-party liability.

5. Prices, payment and deposits

All our prices include VAT. Your booking isn’t confirmed until we’ve received the payment due.

Lessons (paid in full when you book)

  • Initial Lesson (1 hour, at our training grounds): £95
  • 1-2-1 lesson (1 hour): £95
  • Home visit (1 hour): £160, plus any extra travel
  • Puppy lesson (45 minutes): £90

Packages (paid in full before the first lesson)

  • Puppy Package (3 lessons): £240
  • 3 lesson package: £270
  • 6 lesson package: £540

Programmes (deposit to book, balance due 14 days before the start date)

  • The Pathway Programme (5 days): £800, with a £250 deposit
  • The Precision Programme (2 weeks): £1,680, with a £500 deposit
  • The Mastery Programme (4 weeks): £3,000, with a £750 deposit
  • The Mastery Programme (6 weeks): £4,500, with a £1,000 deposit
  • The Mastery Programme (8 weeks): price and deposit on request

Maintenance stays

  • £72 per calendar day, with a 25% deposit and the balance due 7 days before drop-off

How payment works

  • The price that applies is the one on our website, or in your quote, when you book. Quotes are valid for 3 months.
  • Home visits include up to 30 minutes’ travel each way. If you’re further away, we charge £25 for every extra 15 minutes of travel each way, and we’ll confirm this before you book.
  • Programme deposits reserve a place we then turn other dogs away from, so they’re non-refundable, except where section 8 applies.
  • If you book a programme less than 14 days before the start date, the full price is due when you book.
  • Maintenance stays need a deposit of 25% of the stay to secure your dates. It’s non-refundable, except where we cancel. The balance is due 7 days before drop-off, or in full when you book if drop-off is less than 7 days away.
  • If the balance isn’t paid on time, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you, keep the deposit and release the place.
  • Maintenance stays and extra days are charged per calendar day. Every date the stay takes up counts as a full day, even if your dog arrives at midday or in the evening, because that space is held for your dog and can’t go to another dog. If you ask us to extend a residential programme, the extra days are charged at the same rate.
  • Any lessons after the handover lesson on The Precision Programme are charged at our normal lesson prices.
  • Any extra costs, such as flea treatment, food we’ve had to buy, extra travel or late collection, are payable when we ask for them.

6. Lesson packages

  • Packages are offered at a lower price than booking lessons one at a time, in return for your commitment to the full package.
  • Packages are paid in full before the first lesson.
  • Once you’ve had your first lesson, the package has started and there are no refunds on the remaining lessons, whatever the reason, including missed lessons, a change in circumstances, or deciding not to continue.
  • Packages must be used within a set time from the date of purchase: 3 lesson package and Puppy Package, 50 days; 6 lesson package, 60 days.
  • Any lessons not used by then are lost and can’t be refunded or extended.
  • Packages can’t be used for home visits.
  • The two follow-up lessons included in The Mastery Programme take place at a location we agree with you, and must be used within 1 month of the programme ending.
  • After The Pathway Programme, you can buy a 3 lesson package at 25% off (£202.50). It follows these package terms.
  • If you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying a package, by buying it you’re asking us to start your lessons within that time. If you cancel, you’ll pay for any lessons you’ve already had.

7. Cancelling, rearranging and lateness

Lessons (including Initial Lessons, puppy lessons, home visits and lessons from a package)

  • More than 48 hours’ notice: we’ll rearrange the lesson, or refund a single paid lesson.
  • Less than 48 hours’ notice: the lesson is non-refundable, but we can rearrange it if you give at least 24 hours’ notice.
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice, or not turning up: the lesson is lost and can’t be rearranged. If it was a package lesson, it comes off your balance.
  • If you arrive late, the lesson still finishes at the booked time and is charged in full.

The Pathway Programme

  • More than 7 days before the start date: we’ll refund anything you’ve paid apart from the deposit.
  • Within 7 days of the start date: non-refundable.

The Precision and Mastery Programmes

  • Within 14 days of booking: see section 8.
  • After that, but more than 2 weeks before the start date: we’ll refund anything you’ve paid apart from the deposit.
  • Within 2 weeks of the start date: non-refundable.
  • If you collect your dog early or end the programme early, there’s no refund for the remaining days.

Maintenance stays

  • More than 7 days before drop-off: we’ll refund anything you’ve paid apart from the deposit.
  • Within 7 days of drop-off: non-refundable.
  • If you collect your dog early, there’s no refund for the remaining days.

Moving your dates

Requests to move a programme start date are at our discretion and depend on availability. If we can’t offer a suitable alternative, the request is treated as a cancellation.

If we have to cancel

If we need to cancel or move a lesson or programme, for example through illness, we’ll offer you a new date or a refund for that booking. We’re not responsible for any other costs you’ve had, such as travel.

Events beyond our control

We’re not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by events outside our control, such as severe weather, illness outbreaks or emergencies. If this happens, we’ll rearrange as soon as we reasonably can.

8. Your 14-day cancellation rights

  • Precision and Mastery Programmes: if you book online, by phone or by email, you can cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund, including your deposit, as long as the programme hasn’t started. To cancel, let us know in writing, for example by email to info@revolutiondt.com. After 14 days, section 7 applies.
  • Lessons, the Pathway Programme and maintenance stays are booked for specific dates and times, so the 14-day cancellation period doesn’t apply to them. Section 7 applies instead.
  • Lesson packages: see section 6.
  • Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

9. While your dog is with us

Progress updates

  • The Precision Programme: 4 WhatsApp updates with videos during the stay.
  • The Mastery Programme: WhatsApp updates 3 times in the first week, then twice a week, with videos, pictures and explanations.
  • The Pathway Programme: an update each evening when you collect your dog.

Vet care

  • Please give us your vet’s details before any residential stay or day training.
  • If your dog becomes unwell or injured while with us, we’ll contact you straight away. If we can’t reach you, or it’s an emergency, we’ll take your dog to a vet, and you authorise us to agree to any treatment the vet recommends.
  • All vet costs are your responsibility. If we’ve paid them, you must repay us within 7 days.

Collection

  • Please collect your dog at the agreed date and time.
  • If your dog isn’t collected on the agreed day and we haven’t agreed otherwise, each extra day is charged at our maintenance stay rate of £72 per calendar day.

10. Liability

  • We provide every service with reasonable care and skill.
  • Training means working with dogs in real environments, around other dogs and people, and some risk, such as minor scrapes, can’t be removed entirely. We’re not liable for injury, illness, loss or damage to your dog unless it’s caused by our negligence or by us breaking these terms.
  • Your dog is your responsibility whenever it’s in your care, including when you’re handling it during a lesson.
  • You’re responsible for any injury, damage or loss your dog causes to people, other animals or property, and you agree to cover any claims or costs we face as a result, unless they’re caused by our negligence.
  • We’re not liable for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable, or for any business losses.
  • Our total liability to you for any booking is limited to the price you paid for it.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

11. Photos, your information and complaints

Photos and videos

  • We own the photos and videos we take during training. We use them for your progress updates and for our marketing, including our website, social media and adverts.
  • If you’d rather we didn’t use photos or videos of you or your dog in our marketing, tell us in writing before your service starts. We’ll stop using new material from then on, but we can’t always remove content that’s already been published.

Your information

  • We keep your details confidential and only use them to provide our services and run our business. We use trusted providers for things like bookings, payments and emails, but we never sell your details or share them with anyone for their own marketing. Our privacy policy explains this in full.
  • We may send you occasional emails, and you can opt out at any time.

Complaints

Please make any complaint by phone on 07447 185254, by email to info@revolutiondt.com, or by post to Revolution Dog Training Ltd, Rytham Gate Granary, Seaton Ross, York YO42 4NQ. We take every complaint seriously and look into it properly, so please allow up to 7 days for a response, and give us the chance to put things right before taking it further.

12. General

  • If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
